Celebration of the Buddha Skakyamuni's birth in Nepal today

  Today, on the fuul moon day of 14th May, Nepal officially celebrates the birth of Buddha Shakyamuni. Exteneded celebrations are going on around the big stupas of Kathmandu valley like Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, in the Buddhist temples and monasteries of the himalayan country. On this auspicious day the Buddhism followers strive to perform all kinds of virtous activities including generosity, spiritual practices and rituals, listening to the Dharma teachings of the lamas, offering the flowers, incense, lights etc at the holy places and the altars of temples.
